The Police Commission — the public body that sets most of the policies for the Los Angeles Police Department — is finally bringing its meetings into the community on Tuesday, September 19.

Some of the issues that the ACLU of Southern California is concerned about include the LAPD's:

  • ongoing efforts to begin a drone program,
  • flawed internal disciplinary process,
  • refusal to release officers' body cam videos, and
  • need for further improvements in its use-of-force policies.

The Police Commission can change these policies and many others. Show up — make your voice heard.
