On Sunday, June 8th, the ACLU SoCal marched at the 54th annual Los Angeles Pride Parade.
More than 500 anti-trans bills have been introduced in legislatures across the country, and the ACLU SoCal was proud to march down Hollywood Blvd. under the theme “Fight for Trans Futures.”
The day was full of energy, excitement, and parade chants.
Actress and trans rights activist Nicole Maines joined us as our 2024 ACLU SoCal Pride Ambassador. She led the ACLU SoCal marching contingent made up of staff, interns, and supporters carrying ACLU themed balloons and posters with the slogans “Pride is Still Protest” and “Vote for Trans Lives.”
After the parade, the ACLU SoCal hosted a booth at the annual L.A. Pride Block Party where we shared more about our work and sold our limited-edition trans futures tees.
This year, and every year, the ACLU SoCal is honored to participate in the L.A. Pride Parade and speak up for LGBTQ rights. Whether at school, work or anywhere, our affiliate will never stop fighting for a future where every trans person is free to be who they are.
We want to thank everyone who joined us, and we can’t wait to march at next year’s Pride parade!
