Since its inception 100 years ago, the ACLU of Southern California did not always partner with law firms to defend civil liberties. However, in recent decades, law firms that co-counsel cases pro bono with ACLU staff have deepened our impact. Attorneys and support staff at these law firms have, at no cost to the ACLU, collaborated with staff to conduct legal research and develop strategies, file critical impact litigation, and provide other generous means of support. The work of the ACLU of Southern California in the next 100 years will certainly depend on and be successful with these trusted pro bono partners.
The ACLU of Southern California’s pro bono partners have support and collaborate with the organization in a variety of ways, including:
