Access to health care is under attack.
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has played a significant role in ending policies and practices that discriminated against women, LGBTQ people, people with disabilities and people of color. It made health care coverage and access fairer and more equitable, and it has helped preserve the life and liberty of millions of people across the country. Now, the ACA is under threat of repeal by Congress.
Take Action
1) Write your members of Congress and tell them to oppose the American Health Care Act, the ACA repeal bill. Send a message now.
2) Call the following Southern California representatives and urge them to stop the repeal of the ACA and protect our access to health care:
-
Rep. Mimi Walters, Mission Viejo/Laguna Hills, (202) 225-5611
-
Rep. Steve Knight, Palmdale, (202) 225-1956
-
Rep. Kevin McCarthy, Bakersfield, (202) 225-2915
Sample message:
"I urge the honorable representative to stop the repeal of the Affordable Care Act; to save Medicaid expansion; and to keep Planned Parenthood and its vital services afloat. Please publicly oppose the Repeal and Destroy Plan and protect health care access of nearly ten million Californians like myself."
