Meredith Gallen is a senior staff attorney in the Criminal Justice Project at the ACLU of Southern California.
Before joining the ACLU SoCal, Meredith worked as a public defender in Los Angeles County where she advocated on behalf of adult and juvenile indigent clients facing felony and misdemeanor charges for seven years. Prior to becoming a public defender, Meredith worked as a legal fellow at the Prison Law Office in Berkeley, CA, and as a staff attorney at both the ABA Death Penalty Representation Project in Washington, DC and the Post Conviction Assistance Center in Los Angeles, CA.
Meredith graduated from the UCLA School of Law with specializations in Public Interest Law and Policy and Critical Race Studies.
