Sarah joined ACLU SoCal as Deputy Director of Philanthropy in January 2023 after serving as Director of Development for the ACLU of Tennessee in Nashville for six years. Beyond building deep relationships with a variety of supporters to mobilize resources within the ACLU’s walls and beyond to community partners, Sarah’s most rewarding work at the ACLU has been co-facilitating a group of staff from small fundraising teams – affectionately dubbed Small AF, participating in the Southern Collective development cohort, Community-Centric Fundraising Working Group, and National EDIB Working Group, and securing over $300,000 in Grants-to-Affiliate funding specifically for ACLU-TN’s critical trans justice work.

Prior to becoming a fundraiser, most of Sarah’s career experience was in communications (PR, marketing, social media, advertising), and Sarah also served as a policy analyst for the Florida Senate Minority Office. Her hometown is Tallahassee, FL, and she looks forward to uplifting the ACLU’s work from SoCal to the South in partnership with veteran and new donors to keep progress driving forward.
